sooo a few years ago, i remember looking online for anti-barking dog collars that weren't a shocker. i looked and looked for unbiased reviews… and i couldn’t find any. all the reviews i found looked so real - but were sponsored posts or marketing-driven ads that read just like real reviews. in that moment i felt so clear that “this is where tech and AI / artificial intelligence will take us… paid content will keep multiplying like rabbits, drowning out unbiased content.”
likewise, i’ve gotten so sick of how over-sold everything (and everyone) has felt at work too,
think of a spectrum, at one end business is done purely by relationship. and the other end, it’s being done purely on a mercenary basis (‘gimme the money and get outta my way’).
with technology multiplying and measuring online advertising, calls-to-action, sales… i’m inundated by people and bots trying to sell me stuff and influence me. so are you.
if you’re a CEO, when was the last person reached out to you because they cared about you, and not to ask for something?
as technology multiplies our choices (and challenges); how can we surf that wave and develop our emotional smarts - including confidence + resilience?
i’ve had to learn this to maintain my (semblance of) sanity, and while growing and supporting a big family: 2 kids from my wife’s prior marriage, 3 bio-kids together, plus adopting 5 children from newborns to 16-year olds…
navigating uncertainty, anxiety, choice-overwhelm, complexity... tuning into what feels ‘right’ … stepping into the unknown in money or family with no predictable outcome… and trusting it will work out one way or the other...
like Elsa, “stepping into the unknown” because something in me knows it’s right, even when i have no clue how it will work out (speaking of… the teens we adopted are AMAZING)
it helps that i’ve been around long enough to see great challenges evolve into superpowers (more on this later)
being grateful for little moments like coffee or our bedtime routine.

It blows my mind that you have 10 kids, have been as successful as you are and have such a refreshing take on life, and business.
I completely agree Aaron! Lots of parallels in my recent article about 'how to buy without being sold'... https://lookb4.com/how-to-buy-without-being-sold/
