so, I had the joy of getting a letter from a teacher this morning. to cut to the chase - it said our daughter was farting in class too much, and it was a distraction to the teacher and others. i won’t quote it directly, but she used the word “rotten” in the email.
my first reaction was to laugh out loud.
my 2nd was to feel bad for the teacher.
i mean, for years she probably dreamed of inspiring and shaping young minds…
and then she ends up having to write emails to parents about farting. what a buzzkill.
yet i’m in the same boat, as i believe so many people are - i have a life, family and career that’s far better than i could have imagined even 10 years ago.
and i have my own equivalent of buzzkill things i need to deal with… email, endless paperwork (business and personal), travel planning that is like Rubik’s cube, bills that multiply like rabbits, scheduling and re-scheduling, blah blah…
it’s easy to lose sight of what i’ve achieved, and the magic in my life.
i can see it now, Buddha saying “i achieved nirvana fart by fart, coming back to the breath…”

Ps: everyone will have drama and their version of fart letters during the holidays, remember to have a good laugh at it too.
