so in the past few years, often i’ve felt… “fuck! fuck! fuck! i do not want to do this work! i’m so sick of this work. sick of what i’m doing… so done…” but a monster family = monster bills. parents, ya feel me.
fast forward to a couple weeks ago. i was on a call with some cisco execs - fancy dancy - and we were laughing and joking and just having fun (?!?!) getting a new project started; and no, it wasn’t about outbound sales. (well...maybe a tiny bit.)
my recipe so far:
i began changing my hours, schedule, pricing and structure
then, my type of work and team
zooming in on what i ENJOY doing (ex: connecting people, learning, growth)
stacking on my strengths, past successes, my Unique Genius...
throw all that into the mixer and oven, give it a couple of years to bake, and voila!
wish i had be able to do this years ago... but i and the ingredients for this new cake weren’t ready.
i’m grateful to be excited about work again.
